Declares the source file text encoding. This is an < strong > EXPERIMENTAL< / strong > source file directive, which is only supported on some Prolog compilers. When used, this directive must be the first term in the source file. Currently recognized encodings include < code > ascii< / code > , < code > iso_8859_1< / code > , < code > iso_latin_1< / code > (an alias to the previous one), < code > utf8< / code > , < code > unicode_be< / code > , and < code > unicode_le< / code > .
